Principal's COVID-19 Updates
Village Academy High School students and families,
Hello, I hope you are all healthy and doing well as can be expected in these difficult times. This is Principal Biagioni. As I am sure you are aware, our school along with other schools and districts in our county, local counties and state, would not be returning to school for the 2019-2020 school year. Schools will remain open for classroom instruction via the distance-learning model. Beginning Monday, April 6, teachers will be providing assignments and recommended curriculum as well as contacting their students daily. There is an expectation that all students will participate in this model and that teachers will track student participation throughout the process. We are here to support you in this process.
To our seniors and their families. I know this is very difficult and challenging for you to go through the last quarter of your high school years. We are very proud of you and look forward to celebrating all of your success and graduation when we are through this challenging time in the future. I am here for you and please contact me with concerns, questions, or support you may need. We will get through this and you will go forward as amazing and proud Village Academy Knights!
Thank You, Please Stay Safe, and Be Well
Hello, I hope you are all healthy and doing well. We are now in week two of Distance Learning. Teachers and staff are working diligently to support the teaching and learning during this time. Participation is key to success. You have assignments and lessons delivered in several platforms. We are here to help and support. We had a good first week and I expect even a better second week ahead. Summer School registration will begin later this week. Please contact your counselor with any questions or concerns.
Seniors, the amazing class of 2020
We realize that you may be anxious, sad, disappointed, and so much more. Please know that given the opportunity, we will make every effort to have as many activities as possible once it is deemed safe. Your senior ASB officers are being creative and working towards plans for future celebrations. Finish strong, college and career opportunities are ahead for you!
“CREATIVE WELLBEING: Arts, Schools, and Resilience” is a project co-designed by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, Los Angeles County Office of Child Protection, and the Arts for Incarcerated Youth Network (AIYN).
In collaboration with the PUSD ARTS department, the Creative Wellbeing “Family Space” is a series of 7 drop-in, virtual workshops offering engagement in healing-informed art practices by AIYN members as a way to build connection, bolster protective factors, and foster community-care among parents, especially during these stressful times.
Our hope is that this serves an opportunity for parents and caregivers to tap into their creativity, engage in artistic and creative practices, gain tools for self-care, and have fun!
